Ptarmigan in the snow
Cairngorms national park on a spectacular day. Snow was knee deep and the sun never really gets high enough to flatten the light.

I drove from Glasgow to Aviemore in the morning and the 3 hour journey was well worth it.

This hen was kicking some snow off her lunch.

C&C welcome.

Thanks for looking.

I like this especially as you have captured the whites so well in such bright conditions. I would however crop the out of focus boulder from the bottom as I think it would improve the image

well captured

cheers

Another vote to loose the OOF rock at the bottom.Doing the good old holding a piece of paper on the screen over it, makes the image look 'mint'.

A very nice looking image :toast: :toast:

I agree with Alan, and would probably take a little off the top as well. Having said that, what a gorgeous shot.

Very very nice Chris! A good opportunity taken. Agree that the rock should go - I dont mind the high blue though. Lovely image and the wee bit snow kicking is great. Well done.

Very nice   !
I agree the rock should go but I like the expanse of sky. Perhaps just a tiny bit too far right in the frame, but very minor.
Lovely shot!

Great shot Chris. I don't mind that rock as it gives some extra depth to the image. Lovely clean sky, can see this as a cover shot.
