Marsh Harrier
Hi all

Spent the day on the north Norfolk coast and had some quality time with the Cley Marsh Harriers. What a treat! Great weather, great place!

I've been trying to photograph these birds for three years now so I'm quite pleased to get something half decent for a change!

Great shot of a great bird. We get these as migrants in Kenya - seeing them hunting low over a million flamingos is quite something!

Fantastic shot :toast:

Not easy at all, the bigger the bird the more timid they seem and these are often hunting over huge areas... this is a fine result and gosh what a blue sky....

Thats very nice ,I see these most days when waiting for barn owls but they never come this close , if one does I hope I get a shot like this.

Lots of detail, nice lighting under the bird, and that blue sky is gorgeous. Great shot :toast:

Very nice Simon, lovely blue sky - I knew they existed somewhere! Maybe a touch bright on the top underwing but is probably just my screen

Hello Simon

Lovely shot I am hopefully going to be doing a big project on this wonderful bird this year so I hope I can get some stuff like this.

Nice one - I spent two days at the raptor observation point at Hickling recently trying to get shots of these but never had one come close enough. Sounds like I need to go a bit further north!
