Hi Jack,

Interesting shot - nice to see someone experimenting with different aspect ratios! I'm not entirely sure 2:1 works for this shot however - this feels a little 'boat heavy' to me, and my attention is snatched away from the dolphins. I might try cropping so that just the bow is in the shot, maybe from just bedore the cabin. Then there would be a bit more balance to the shot. Try covering bits of the boat with your hand - I think it works better?

Hope that makes sense, this could be an outstanding shot. It would be interesting to see what others think?

I agree with Billy. Seeing as the dolphin is quite close to the edge of the frame, less boat (cropped just before the mast) would balance out the composition.

Cheers

Not sure this works as well as your last 2:1 crop... I like the idea showing the relationship between the Dolphin and man, just wonder if you have any more room in front of the Dolphin?

I quite like it as it is, with the dolphin near the edge with not much space before it vanishes out the left end - kind of implies the fleeting nature of some of these enconters.

Ps theres never a dull day at Chanonry!!

I agree that ist about the man and the dolphin , a closer crop would help but the picture tells the story .
