Kestrel with a woodmouse
A very good friend of mine helped me with this image and I managed to get a nice sequence of this female with this mouse, only the first few are usable though as when she started to rip into her prey it was a bit gruesome.

Canon 1D MK11, 500mm lens, 1.4x, F5.6, 1/160, ISO 200

Hi Danny,

Thats a very nice shot. Prey item is a great bonus and a lovely pose on Kes.

Nice shot Danny,

Impossible to fault really, but I really like the way you can see the doormouse's face, it really gives an extra dimension to the image, as most of the time the mouse is a mashed up ball in the Kestral's talons!

Both great shots, and I am glad you posted the second one as well.

Fantastic to have such a complete and detailed view of the prey as well as the predator. I'm not so keen of the view of the face in the second shot...

Great shot(s) Danny - I like the way you've managed to get a catchlight in both the kestral AND the mouses eyes (apart from the headless one, of course!)

Thanks for sharing.

Both are superb but the second is the winner for me.

I vote for the first one, because of the look on the face of the kestrel. I wonder if you could go a bit brighter on that one?

Think both of these are really excellent.
