Has anyone spent anytime in Water Holes Canyon near Page? Is it worth a visit? It looks like there are 3 sections, with the middle one (near the road) being the least technical.
Any recommendations/data would be helpful. Thanks!
I've been in there a half dozen times or so.
It's a nice short hike, but photo ops are quite limited compared to Antelope Canyon. Still worth seeing as it's close to Page and it's something to do in the middle of the day if you have time to spare. Apparently a permit from the Navajo Nation is required to visit now. You can get one from the Upper Antelope Canyon booth or the LeChee chapter house near Page.

There is one company out of Page running a trip to Water Holes (I'm not 100% sure) but you can also hike in. There are a series of cairns which lead you to a more modest slope to get down into the wash where you can hike the rest of the way to the canyon. Don't take the steep climb down at right of the road, follow the cairns in instead. Water Holes isn't the greatest canyon to shoot, but it's worth a visit.
