The same owl?

... as Phil's shot below, I think. Taken earlier in the week around sunset after spotting it on a post through a hedgerow as I drove past on the way home.

40D + 500mm, ISO 800 at f5.6 for 1/1600
Tripod
Full frame sized to A4, added a small amount of blue filter to lift the very grey sky

To make it an even better encounter was the SEO on a post in the same field

Lovely, nice contrast between the sky and the SEO. Lovely detail on the wing feathers.
