We are pleased to announce that in collaboration with Mountain Trail Photo, the Nature Photographers Network will be producing a series of instructional books. To kick off this exciting new venture, The Ultimate Guide to Digital Nature Photography book is being produced in association between MTP and NPN. This book, as well as others can be found in our new Bookshelf section, a link to which can now be found in the "Instruction" menu (formerly "Articles") above.
We will be working with NPN members to produce this series of books. We will be soliciting photos and text from our members, for which they will be compensated for the use of their work. Our goal is to produce new books on a regular basis covering all aspects of nature photography. This effort will also expand into a series of NPN calendars, featuring our members' photography.
This is certainly an exciting opportunity, allowing the Nature Photographers Network to expand beyond cyberspace. It will allow our collective expertise to reach those who may not have otherwise benefited from it, and allow our members' work to get in front of a much larger audience.
In the coming months we will be defining the scope of our next book project and publish a list of photos needed. We will spell out the terms of use for each project and invite our members to submit their work for consideration.
We look forward to your participation and hope you are as excited about this as we are!
Excellent idea and some positive thoughts overall, Jim. The cover shot is a real attention getter and will catch the eye of many folks out there just looking around.
Hey all, we here at Mountain Trail Press & Mountain Trail Photo are looking forward to working with Jim and the rest of NPN on future products!

One more question....I'm not so sure I want to purchase a pure "guide" book. How are the actual printed images? Would this one be worth buying for that as well? (Some of Mountain Trails guy are some of my favorite photographers.) Just curious...

Looking forward to it -- one day maybe my skills will warrant my participation!
How wonderful to see NPN advocating in this way for its photogs/members! What a great idea! And it looks like the expansion of the reach of NPN to a wider audience is well underway. Thanks Jim!

Aww, Geeez & Holy Nuts, Batman! What an awesome combination of talents & passion. Can't wait to see how great the the results are. This seems like a perfect fit; like an Ace paired with a Face Card in Blackjack.
Cheers & Best of luck with this and all future endeavors.

Note - The Ultimate Guide to Digital Nature Photography is now on "pre-sale" on Amazon and is due out in May. However, about 30% of the first run is already sold!
