Not entirely sure if these are acceptable to be posted here or not, techinically they're not "nature".
When the skies outside give us nothing exciting for sunrise/sunset, I find experimenting indoors is a good way to shake the lack of shooting outdoors. This is an old technique I have never tried, but had fun on my first attempt, and learnt alot.
Oil and Water & Tamron 90mm macro lens., no PS involved, except for levels, saturation and sharpening.
let me know what you think?.

Great experiments, Nick !
I especially like the lighting and composition in #1.
What were you using for a background to get the color in #2?

Hi Bill, the background in #1 I used a colourful CD cover, #2 I think it was a photograph of lily pads and red reflected in the water, probably blue from the sky. These are so close up though of course, the colour was a very small portion of what I was shooting, the large bubbles are probably only 1/2" in diameter max.
This is really interesting. I'm glad you posted them and told how you did it. I would never have thought of doing something like this. They really help to stretch my thinking and open up a whole world of possibilities. Well done!
