Thought Id research my usual Hare locations this morning. They did'nt disappoint. There was 6 in one field all getting randy but to far away for me to get any decent pics. So I just sat under a tree enjoying the morning sun and hoping they'd come my way. It was my first proper outing with my 200-400. Had to use it on a monopod as I still have'nt got a replacement whimberly foot for it yet.
I know its not a prize winner and there has been some cracking Hare shots on here, but its probably the best one in my collection. Apart from the annoying blurred out grass on the body I'm really pleased.
Oh by my own admission Im not brill with Photoshop. Ive given this some Smart Sharpen, could I get away with abit more, is it over done or is this okay ? I'd like your opinions..

Looks very nice to me Trevor. As you mention the oof grass is annoying but I'd certainly settle for this one. I was looking for them myself this weekend, and found the first group today. Five hares all warily moving around each other without ever quite getting started, so it won't be long. Personally I think that is sharp enough although I admit that I prefer to use repeated small doses of unsharp mask myself. Eric

Nice starter and far better than any of mine.
I quite like the "it's my best so far" factor - gives us more to strive for and a reason to go out again and again and again...
Have to agree on the sharpness in that it looks fine to me, detailed and natural.

looks great to me too Trevor. Like eric I also tend to use USM on selected parts of the shot where needed. Think you could fairly easily clone out the oof grass stem if desired, or leave it in as a reason to get out there again!

Cheers for all the comments guys. I'll be back out for sure Magnus, going to ask the farmer if I can use my hide.
