Barn Owl
Hi guys,

I've been spending the weekend at my parent's house - meaning I can finally shoot something other than mallards! There's a lot technically wrong with this shot (blur, noise, etc) due to the huge lack of light but I think the black background adds something slightly different, and the motion blur adds to the ghost-like appearance of these birds. I could just be trying to make this shot into something though - I would love to hear your thoughts!

420mm, f4, 1/25, iso 1000. WB and contrast adjustment and NR in RAW processing.

thanks for looking

Billy

Looks like a Frans Lanting!

Agree it has a certain something, but it's a shame the bird is flying away from you.

I quite like it, as it is what we normally see of a barn owl when driving past one.

For me, I say almost but not quite. I agree it would have made a huge difference if it had been flying towards you, showing the face more. Look forward to seeing more!
