I just returned from a short trip to Rocky Mountain National Park and during a hike to Alberta Falls I made this image of a Stellar Jay sweeping up to perch on a rock, seeking a handout. A little unconventional in that you can't see its eyes but I liked the wing/body position and the deep shadow it cast on the rock. Thanks for looking!

Wayne, there is really great detail in your shot and the narrow DOF really emphasizes it. Great shot! I can not believe there is not snow this time of year?

Eye catching and different. And certainly blue. Wow

That sure is a nice color and shadow does for me. I've never seen anything like that.
Ditto on the colors and shadow. Great catch and the DOF... Wow!

Feel free to violated the rules of composition anytime you get such a great shot opportunity. The colors on the Jay are just plain stunning! Only thing comes close is the Indigo Bunting.
Really a cool action shot Wayne. The color in the wings is just beautiful and the light really brings it out. What other images did you get while in the park? I look forward to seeing them...
