Herring Gull (NOT) + edit
Hello

Spent Sunday afternoon at Chew Valley Lake near Bristol photographing a pair of Herring Gulls. As they are such big creatures I was after the frame filling shot - I'm not 100% sure about this, to me it does seem too tight in the frame (even though that is what I was after!)

Techs

D3 + 300-800 at 600mm
1/1600 sec at f8, ISO 400

full frame straight from camera, just a round of USM applied

cheers for looking

Colin

EDIT ---- I posted this over at Birdguides and they tell me the bird is actually a LESSER BLACK BACKED GULL - so my mistake and thanks to Birdguides for putting me right

Nice capture Colin a bit more space on the right would help. IMO :toast:

Hi Colin,

Nice wing position and eye contact. A bit more space to the right would help IMO.

Cheers

Austin

Hi Colin,

Great capture! Love the wing position! A wee bit tight in the frame for my taste though!

Hi Colin,

Great shot, except the space around is a little bit tight (as you did mention yourself).
Razor sharp on the right places.
