I tried to post to the existing thread, but I believe it was closed. This is why I am opening a new one.
Did anybody try to call Clackamas Aquatic Park? They have two professional meeting rooms for rent, they are not booked, and they are available for 15/hr for single room or 25/hr for double room.
Their number is (503) 794-8080.

Hey Cezar - I think this was canceled because there wasn't enough confirmed interest in it.

I thought there were many interested people, but no Portland based location. That was my understanding. Am I wrong?

Well, I don't know for sure.. Woodland really wasn't that far, so I am not sure why anyone would have had a problem just going up the freeway a few more clicks - but maybe I'm wrong. I just know it got nixed..

I called North Clack. and they have conference rooms but no projectors. I also spoke with Mount Hood Community College, and they have tiered classrooms with projectors available (the regular classrooms usually do not have projectors). The rate is $59 per 4 hours per room. Mt Hood CC is close to the Gorge, so if there is enough interest to do this, we could take a few shots prior to the lecture and have Mike use a few as examples for RAW processing. I was told that availability is usually no problem on weekends.

Starting Apr 1 I am available.
Mount Hood CC sounds great to me!

Check the "Workshop Canceled" thread a little ways down on the front page. It sounds like Erik has the guy's info in case someone wants to contact him and do the legwork to get something else scheduled.....

I sent Erik an e-mail. I'll get in touch with Mark and then see if we have enough people to make this work.

We had a place in Woodland but we only had seven or eight people who commited (I guess folks thought it was too long a drive). I left the thread up for almost a week to get a show of hands for those interested. Ususally there are a few no shows so that would only make a few that would have attended. I have lots going on the next few months so If anyone else wants to give it a try, go for it (that's if Mark is willing to give it another shot). I put in alot of time on it so I won't be organizing another one. It was only Woodland which is a half hour up I5. I'm baffled that most who committed in the first thread didn't want to attend it in Woodland.

So Mt Hood community college rents space out? Does anyone know if PCC does that sort of thing? That would be in Portland and much easier for everyone to make it if Mark was still interested in doing the workshop at a later date.

I placed a call earlier today to PCC Sylvania facility services. I haven't heard back and will try tomorrow. My thought was Mt. Hood would allow close proximity to shooting ops before or after the presentation, but maybe ease of commute trumps that. I'm going to get in touch with Mark and see if he'd be willing to try again. When I hear back from him, I'll post a new thread. As for me, either PCC or Mt. Hood CC would work. What do other people think?

I am sure that Portland Parks has something in one of their community centers that would suffice. Anyone try them?

Mt Hood is fine for me.

Given that I'll be coming down from Seattle, any location is fine for me.
