Just back from a week skiing in the Stubaital valley Austria, weather was miserable and the camera only made it out of the bag for 15 minutes one lunchtime, grey, fog/cloud and extremely windy virtually every day, not the usual blue skies I had hoped for.
This is a species I have been waiting a long time to photograph, the restaurants being a magnet for chip loving alpine choughs. The Snow finches will have to wait for next year when hopefully the photographic conditions will be better and more people will be on the slopes rather than sheltering from the conditions!

Looks like it needed even more positive EV, as presented here the black seem to lack detail, which is more than likely down to compression as well, and appreciate that the weather conditions, in particular the light were not on your side...
Great to have as a record and I am sure you will improve on it when you get another chance...

Looking at this on my works laptop it does seem a touch blue and dark and the eye detail has been totally lost, I'll have another go using a callabrated CRT screen rather than my 'quick and dirty' latop processing. A black bird against white snow is a challenging combination to get right.....

This picture does not have it, at least for me.
I'm sorry.
