Custom car…
I know I'm severely bending the rules… Can we call it human nature? a man-made creation? How about an ID from anyone, who is a car expert? Ooooh, it had a wonderfully grumbly sounding, supercharged motor!

This is a first try at some serious layers and blending to alter the bg of this image. Also a first at sepia toning with an added green filter in the conversion.

All comments and suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Thats a sweet ride. I like the light quality and the tones you have here, but the photoshop work is a little rough in places. Especially around the roof area. I think if you darkened the top left corner, it may hide the evidence of covering whatever was in the BG a little better. I'd love to see the original - if you are willing to post it. It makes it easier to appreciate the amount of work that has been done if you can see how far the shot has come.

Thanks, Aaron, for commenting! Yeh, some rough spots for sure. I agree. There's probably a LOT easier way to accomplish what I was trying for! I'll probably work on this again as well as on other shots I have of the car. I just wanted to try a few things and see if I could come up with a car portrait.

Here's the original for reference. It's straight from the camera complete with dust bunnies...

That looks like a 1940 Ford Coupe. Fun car and it was my first car. Nice shot.

I like your rendition. Looks like a pretty sweet ride. BTW, your not bending any rules. Different subjects are nice too see sometimes.

They just don't make 'em like that any more... The sepia tone version is really nice.
