Bathtime ..
I spent some time lying in the mud photographing the friendly Norfolk turnstones recently. The flying water droplets were rather disappointing on compression, but hopefully still convey the impression of the commotion.

Very different Dave, I like the high key effect. I do wish the water droplets were more visible, but it sounds like they are in the large version? One thing - the image seems to be a bit wonky - could do with some straightening?

This is certainly worth more than 1 comment Dave! I really like the shot - great sense of action and as Billy says the high key sort of effect works well. Maybe a little tight at the top but necessary to get the whole reflection I guess

agree with Magnus, surprised more have not commented. This is a very different shot with the high key effect, personally I am not keen on it, however, that's not to say it's bad (it's not) just not my thing, but it's executed extremely well, nicely focused where it needs to be....

well taken

cheers

Apart from the slight wonkiness, this one really does work for me, as usual everyone tastes are different but certainly works for my taste. Silly question really, but do you like yourself?

Thanks for the comments. Not a silly question at all Drew - I would have liked equal space at the top and bottom, but apart from that I was after something a bit different and really liked the high key effect that leapt out of the viewfinder before I took the shots. I found it hard to get it to an orientation that I liked as the furthest line to the back draws the eye, and as it is one of the concentric rings of the splash I found the curve made it difficult to judge.

Thus is great, I really like it, high-key look as well. I would perhaps crop a smidgen from the left side.
