I was walking across a moor today when I became aware of a few skylark on the ground. I sat down on a tussock, which of course was very wet, and waited. These are incredibly difficult to see in their habitat and rarely seem to come into the open (at least on the moor). I wish I could have got closer but I'm pleased I got an environment shot to record the memory.

Very nice Ian. Indeed a rare event to see one this clearly in my experience. Good capture

Good enviro shot Ian. Skylarks never seem to be to posey, as soon as you attempt to fire the shutter there off.

Well it's a damn sight better than any skylark shot I've got Ian

Very nice Ian, the colours show one reason why these seem to be so hard to see on the ground

Nice work Ian, I think I would have preferred it if the bird was looking into the frame otherwise it seems to aware of you taking the pic, if you know what I mean. Subtle differences in 'natural' behaviour. Otherwise I like it very much especially the enviro setting.
