The Yellow Zone
Well I wish I could say for sure what I've captured here, but in all honesty I'm not sure. I know typically what mustard weed looks like in either the yellow or orange flower-blossoms, but these have a different type stem and a much larger bud formation on the ends.
Anyway, C&C appreciated as well as any input on what these maybe. Thank you. (Needless to say with this much detail compression just killed this thing)

Paul, if I saw these from a distance I'd call them wild mustard too. I like the yellow but the comp doesn't do much for me, maybe closer or a different grand view; the background hills don't look like they have much to offer a grand view either.

Reno, ya, I'm not sure what these are for sure. Probably a version of mustard weed I would think. There really were no comps per se in this small area. Shooting from a fence line here with lots of urbanization on the hillsides too. We take'm where we can get'm...

quite the display of yellow you found here! Doesn't look anything like that around here. :frown: Hopefully we will get some flowers here soon.

That is some serious yellow. I agree, take 'em where you can find 'em.

Paul,

I like the mass of yellow here and I think in this case the process of getting a 4x5 to the web, with jpg compression and all, have actually created a nice effect. It's almost like the field of dense flowers has a painterly look to it - especially in the central part of the image. And while there's not much going on in the background, I still like the mass of flowers and would have been attracted to this scene as well.

Paul,
Nice spring setting with some major yellow. I sort of agree with Lon about the BG. Still, a pleasing image. Best Regards. Michael
