Alaska Scenic
This is a sunrise shot of Kachemak Bay State Park, the first designated state park in Alaska, and the only one designated as a wilderness. Taken from Homer which is about 5 miles on the opposite side of the bay.
This is a 1½ frame pano from a 1DsIII. Canon 500/4IS, 1/50sec,f6.3,
ISO 200

The first thing out of my mouth was "WHOA"! Love the clouds pouring over the peaks and the golden sky! Beautiful! :toast:

Those clouds are fantastic as well as the light. I bet it sings even louder with a black background around it. You lucky dog.

Great complimentary colors and I love the slight rim lighting on the LH cloudbank. Beautiful and nice use of the big lens Don :toast:

This is quite spectacular!
Love the color contrast and the 'right there' feeling I get when viewing this one.
I fell in love with Homer when I visited....hope you had as great a time!

Wow!! Just love those clouds wrapping themselves over the peaks. Beautiful image!

This is beautiful!!! I'd love to have a version of this, perhaps cropped a bit more from the bottom, hanging on my wall! I love the way the clouds just drape themselves over the peaks and the gorgeous light!!!

Stunning image Don! I'm with Erik on cropping out some of the bottom, maybe even as far as the bottom half so you just have the peaks, clouds and yellow sky. You make me want to visit Alaska even more.

Wow! Awesome!

Love that sky color and those clouds! Just another reason to get up north someday!

I go along with the bottom crop comments but its a great overall image! I bet you stood in awe as the color started to develop. Really like the cloud bank. Don't you just love it when a plan comes together!

Wow! This is one sweet image. I agree that a crop would tighten things up a bit, but it's optional IMO. Great work, Don.

Don, what can I add to the comments already spoken. You have a terrific image here. It's like the mountains are pulling up their covers for a long winters night.

Thanks for sharing.

Fabulous image Don
It brings back memories. In the summer of 1980 I spent 8 weeks in Kachemak Bay State park teaching wilderness education. We did the third acent of Ice Worm Peak. Its an amazing landscape. I need to go back
