Frosty Pheasant + repost
Firstly my apologies for my lack of activity on here lately.

I seem to have had the photographers version of writers block in more ways than one.:frown:

Met up with Phil thismorning at Elmley in the hope of seeing a few hares performing, but they seemed very illusive, and so I had to settle for this cock pheasant.I couldn't get my car in the correct position because of a couple of other cars that got in ahead of me.

Therefore I have cropped and stretched the canvas on the left for composition.Ususal processing, levels and contrast etc. Shame about the dark area, but it couldn't be helped.

40D,300mm f4 +1.4 t/c. ISO 400, f5.6 1/2500 sec

All the best,

Fran

Hi Fran,

Great pose and shot. I think a little more contrast would benefit this pictures. On my screen it looks a little pale.

Very nice, the repost with more contrast is much better. I'm afraid the stretched canvas doesn't really work for me. The change in the texture of the grass is very obvious. A possible solution would be if you had a strip of the background free, copy, paste, flip, (merge layers) then carefully clone and heal the edge. Also, I don't think you need quite that much space in front of him, if the canvas stops where I think it does, you may have a fine shot as it is.

Still, this is a perfectly timed and beautifully lit image!
