I was up in Derbyshire today when I met up with a few folks photographing the dippers, and realised I (sort of) knew one of them (Mark). He suggested I should join this site...

So, here's a shot of a SEO from Feb, down in Bucks. Taken handheld with a Canon 40D 100-400mm L lens.

Cloned out a couple of branches that were distracting. Hope you like it.

Hi Pete, welcome to this forum.

A nice shot of this chap, tho it would look better presented in a bigger size(like 700x on the vertical).

Hope to see more of your images in the future :wavey:

Whilst I''m never in favour of cloning I think this is a stunning picture, could we see the original?

Well done, Brian :toast:

I rarely bother with cloning things out, it's just people suggested I ought to with this shot, as it'd make it better.

The original is here:

Hey Pete, welcome! You know I like this, although the OOF stem on the RHS still looks a little odd.

Welcome! :wavey:

Lovely first post! Looking at your original, I think the cloning was worth it, as it has produced a lovely clean image with lots of impact.

Look forward to seeing more!
