Ozarks Oddity
Another crazy ozark rock feature. I almost felt like it would fall off the bluff if I leaned on it.

Hey Ed - I've tried to push that rock over several times but it won't budge!

Your not supposed to admit that!!

Very nice Ed. Someone put in a lot of effort getting that boulder placed there.

When I see stuff like this it just makes me wonder how it got there. But that's why we have geologists, to figure that stuff out.

Nice shot Ed. Thanks for sharing! :wavey:

Is this a single image or composite? Shadows look a bit brigher than I would have expected . . . unless you used flash or lightened things up in post. It is a most interesting photo. Thanks.

Ed a neat location - it might be worth the effort to return when things get a little more green.

Pretty cool, Ed, looks like a rock right out of a Roadrunner cartoon! Nice work with the processing - great filtered light too.

Great shot, Ed. It looks like it is ready to fall. Can you tell us the location of this rock?

This is the trail along the bluff to Hawksbill Crag. This was taken in January before the ice hit. I probably won't be able to get out until the second week of April or so but I suspect this trail is as damaged as everything else in the area.

I am thinking about heading down to WRNWR and enterprise lake for some spring shooting. Everything north of I-40 looks pretty bad from what I have been able to see just driving around.

Very sad.

I shot along this bench the morning of the big ice storm while it was still all covered with ice. Some pretty neat stuff for sure! The damage was not too extensive there, but some of the benches above got hit really bad - like all along the road into my cabin! While a lot of the Ozarks got hammered there is still much left that was untouched. For instance, nothing hit in Boxley Valley at all. The swamps would be very nice in the coming weeks for sure though - just watch for them snappers!
