Grey Heron Scene
1D2n, 600mm f4 is x1.4TC, 1/1250s, f8, iso 400.

I found a new pond with new opportunities. Unfortunately, the angle of view (from a public hide) is fixed and there are other obstacles to overcome, (the lens is really too big for the windows!). Grey heron are in abundance, along with many other species and I'm looking forward to a few more visits. This was taken at sunrise, just as the mist was clearing, producing a beautiful light. Comments and critique are welcome as always.

Looks better larger:

The pond shows potential Ian and has done all ready. Pity that second bird isn't this side of the reed stems. Know doubt that pond is full of frogs. :toast:

That's a cracker I like the second shot poor frog. You've got a great location there.

Nice capture with both images, the staling behaviour and the feeding. I like them both, very well done.

Certainly cracking light Ian and obvious potential - work the site well for the next couple of weeks if you can.
