O.K., I usually try to be sure I like something before posting it here, but I just can't decide, so any comments on this positive or negative are welcome.

Here's a link to a fuller size version:

And if anyone thinks the comp is decent but the color / brightness look off if they could let me know... I've been trying to calibrate my monitor and very well may have made things worse!

Thanks in advance.

In my mind, the mountains and sky are the most interesting aspects of this image. Their cool tones do contrast nicely with the warm grass. Not sure if the cows add or detract - I can't make up my mind on that.

I'm seeing a major halo between the mountains and the sky in the larger image, likely the result of a little overenthusiastic sharpening?

Actually, there's something funny about those mountains that's even more apparent in the large image. Something about the quality of light almost makes them look like they're pasted in to this scene. It may be a result of the sharpening, but they look much more 2-dimensional and contrasty than the foreground. I'm no Potoshop expert, but to me they look like they've undergone one too many adjustments - at least, that's how I've accidentally ended up with funky effects on images myself!

Winter Cattle - worth keeping? Yes. Worth eating - hell yes!

Not oversharpening (I don't think  ), but it's a composite of two different raw processings of the same shot, so perhaps the execution could use some work.

Fix the sky, and keep it around. You never know what stock buyers will pay for!

I like pastoral scenes, so I'd definitely keep it. I think this might work well in a lower contrast, sepia version.

What Jesse said + consider this image as part of a larger story instead of a stand-alone. There are many story lines to be drawn from a cattle in the west iconic image.

I've updated the linked image with a (hopefully) better take on the sky / mountain interface, comments welcome.

Definitely worth keeping, images of the west (cows, cowboys, horses) sell well as stock. I would crop some sky and some of the grass though and also darken the grass a bit.
