On Saturday morning, I set out to climb, ski and photograph the north face of North Maroon Peak. Two of us got towed to the trailhead via snowmobile (8 miles each way) while the third drove. From there, we skinned from Maroon Lake to the base of the north face. Once at the base, we climbed a long and steep couloir to the summit ridge where I setup my camera gear and traversed just below the ridge toward the summit. After a brief rest, I photographed the traverse of the the other two skiers (from the summit) and we descended the north face. Needless to say, it was brutally exhausting, but I managed to take a few pictures.

Really impressive images. That first one really shows how steep it really is.
They say genius is not that far from madness. I think I know which category to put you and your friends into. Great shot, Scott! I love the panning on 3 and the steepness communicated in 1.

I'm glad to hear that you like the photos. It's steep, but perhaps the hardest part about the line is not getting cliffed out. From the summit, you have to go waaay left (skier's left) on the third rock band in order to find your way through a few narrow openings in the cliffs. You eventually reconnect with the base of the couloir.
That is on the edge! Simply crazy deed and great photos! The Bells from Maroon Lake look vertical, but your shots show a slight backwards cant to the peak but it still looks like about an 80 degree pitch!!! That's very edgy!
