Our new website went live this week. Thanks to Jack Brauer and Jesse Speer at Widerange Galleries for putting it together. I think you'll find the design and navigation an interesting departure from the usual photography website format. We would appreciate any feedback you might have. The domain address remains the same. There are still some galleries to be uploaded and I am still working on the purchasing aspect of it. Unfortunately with the work involved in preparing images for the web (most images now reprocessed) and my trip to Paris, I have had little time for any nature photography which should hopefully change soon.

I've always admired your work and this new site format is very pleasing to the eye and navigates well. My only complaint is that I would love to see your images larger... maybe in the 700-800 px or larger. Other than the image size, I find this a very refreshing site. Unique look, quick and logical interface. A site that easily helps "brand" your work.... Maybe a larger, separate window could be opened to view the selected image. Your work needs to be seen in all it's glory. Good Luck with the new site.

I like this format, very nicely designed & clean. It's just like walking through a nice gallery. I agree that the enlargements could be slightly larger, but they're really not bad in their current format. All the best with your endeavors. I have enjoyed your interviews as well, hope you will continue with this series.

The enlargements are 750px in length, probably as large as you would want to go without worrying about what people could do with them. I'll explore the possibility of having the larger version opening in a separate window, sounds like a neat idea.

Looks great! Every time I see another widerange galleries site it makes me want to knock on Jack's door... oh wait... I did, now I just need to save up a few more bucks  I like the light cream toned backdrop theme you have going, it suits your work (which is superb) very well.

Kah,

A wonderful website that showcases your images beautifully - as a website should. I like the layout, colors, etc. Jack and Jesse do a great job.

I'm going to send you an email regarding some technical navigation issues I observed.
Otherwise, the site looks great.

Beautiful site and very easy to navigate. All of Jack and Jesse's sites I've seen are gray. I like the soft tan background of yours a lot. And there are some awesome images there.

Beautiful site that shows off your work very well. I have to give you kudos for trying something new in web design. The web is replete with design "guidance" advising us all to avoid horizontal scrolling at all costs but I think you've managed to make it work well! You do indeed get the feeling of strolling through a gallery--well done!

Congrats on going live with the new website, Kah Kit. It's looks amazing - seeing it filled out with your stellar imagery. Most photographers ask for gray, so it was a fun departure working on your unique website vision. Thanks again.

May be it's only happening to my laptop - but as I navigate, the photos are kind of getting jumbled up (on top of each other) - difficult to look at them

Photos are extraordinary as usual - I think that I know all of yours photos by now

Arnab, this issue has recently benn brought to my attention. It happens on IE7, if you refresh the page the photos reorder themselves. Jack is looking into a solution. Thanks very much for the feeback everyone.

Beautiful design that effectively reflects the aesthetic of your very talented work.

I will break rank in that I think the horizontal scrolling is a tragic mistake to the design. As someone who has designed web sites professionally in the past my first reaction was that your site was broken. Only because I was driven to investigate the site for this feedback did I continue on. Normally I would have closed the window.

My opinion is just that... the opinion of one man. Track your site metrics to determine the true impact of your design on your viewers.

Regards

Jim, I am curious as to what the reason you thought the website was broken, was it the issues I'm having with IE7 browser where images stack up like a deck of cards. I am aware that not everyone will be a fan of horizontal scrolling however we have particular reasons for doing so.

Kah Kit - Terrific site, and (of course) great photos. As far as the horizontal scrolling goes, my first thought, like Jim's, was that something didn't load right or the site was broken. Of course, once I realized I could scroll horizontally, that wasn't a problem (and I realized that "gallery" or "museum" motif of it all). But it's unusual enough that without some markers (arrows? words?) on the page, it could be a little confusing. I think some people tend to be very intolerant of pages that don't appear to load correctly, or that are at all confusing, so I can't say I'm a fan of the horizontal scrolling as it's set up now. I have seen it on other pages where the images fade off to the sides, and there are arrows, etc. indicating how to navigate.

Simply a stunning site! Framing simply stunning imagery!
