Sandhill Crane Party
It's not all business for Sandhill Crane's during the migration. They make sure to take time out from feeding to socialize and kick up their heels in dance. Another trait is that they like to throw things in the air (usually dirt) but if you look closely here the crane with its wings spread has part of a husk that is headed airborne.

Man, they look like they are having fun! Maybe they just found out Kansas is headed back to the sweet sixteen!

Excellent capture, Wayne.

Nice. I like the mix of colors of the cooler blue-gray of the birds with the warmer yellow of the corn.

A really cool shot Wayne, it looks like they were having a party. My golden retriever love to throw things in the air like that also. You captured some really fine images on this trip. I bet it was alot of fun.

Correction: That should be "kick up their claws!" Great shot. Nature is definitely not all "red in tooth and claw!"

Notice the hang time!
