I did some exploring of this lovely little creek on Sunday - thank goodness for Goretex!

Nice, but did you also get any horizontal comps of this scene? I could see going to a longer lens, and cutting out most of the FG -- not that it's bad as-is, but it would be another way of looking at the scene.

I didn't tote any long lenses along - I'm still wringing out the 16-35 - I have a more zoomed version I may be able to post later..

Nicely taken, i personally like the curve in the creek in the foreground, more depth and interest.

OK Ned---you got me going! I am getting out this weekend1
Having not taken a nature shot myself in quite a while, I hesitate commenting these days...
I think your exposure is dead on as always. The colors pop, the textures are awesome too, and the stream takes a great path through the frame .
The composition leaves me wanting to see a little less of the top 1/4 of the image, but then I realize that would chop of the tops of the canyon walls. Just that I'm not finding that triangle of space directly above the upper falls adding enough to the image. I wonder if you burned in that area, and the bright stick about 1/4 from the ulc if the eye wouldn't be drawn there?
Like I say, take with a grain of salt as I am rusty and out of practice. My $0.02,
Best regards,
-Brett

Great direction to this comp, Ned. Looks like a bit of brush has washed out of this section over the winter, at least from what I can recall.

It seems pretty clear up there right now, Marc.. there are still, of course, very old trees that were downed in various areas that look like they will be there for quite some time. I want to get back to explore further up there - the whole deep canyon up there looks interesting based on first glance..
