Mountain Hares
Another mountain hare shot from back in January. A perfect day on the hill with plenty of hares about, some in reasonable size groups. These were semi-aware of me and were starting to move off - ambling at first then at top speed which is quite a sight.

Canon EOS 1D MkIII with 500mm lens.

Nice one Mark... the light looks like it was a bit of a nightmare, I might have gone for an even more panoramic format for presentation here...perhaps to just below the darker line crossing the image...?

I do like this group shot Mark - either "as is" or with Phils' suggested crop :wavey:

out of interest how hard is it to find these in the summer?

Wow so many hares! Lovely shot, they all look like they're posing for you. The suggested crop would also look great.

Good hare day?

Nice shot, I second the suggestion of a panoramic crop.

You don't waste any time! Shouldn't you be processing some of those news shots?

Obviously a opportunity well taken (as usual). The only improvement for me would be the pano crop. It is gagging for it Sir.

Cropped as suggested.

Absolute belter - especially the pano. Blue snow and sunlit mountain hares is always a great combination: add in a group and ....'nuff said.

Beautiful - all been said, I prefer the Pano and I bet looks better bigger - shame about the harsh light though you've handled exposure well - I didn't think you got sun up there in the highlands!

I slightly prefer the cropped version, but either way a great shot in what look like difficult conditions.
