Hi everyone!

Not one from my garden bird project!

Managed to get away to the Peak District the other weekend, saw my first mountain hare (yay!) although it did look like a fluffy white rock on the distant hillside...

Managed a good few images of the jackdaws in the area, it cost me my lunch, but was well worth it, and they seemed to appreciate it!

Techs:
Nikon D200, Sigma 180mm
1/320sec @f4.5 200ISO

Thanks for looking, C and C welcome! :wavey:

Not a bird you see too many images of and I like this one. You've caught the eye well and it has a nice inquisitive pose too. The oof wall is quite dominant, but not really an issue for me.

Nice one of a rarely posted bird, good position in the frame, good pose and the exposure looks to have been handled well....

Like it

Surprisingly tricky bird to photograph - very wary and plenty of exposure challenges at times too.

Well captured dawn - love the bright blue eye.

cost you your lunch - I hope you mean they ahd it as opposed to sickness!

Nice shot - the eye really captures you, for me the oof rock is too dominant and barriers the bird for me.

Nice one, Dawn. As others have already said, not too many jackdaws get posted on here. What do we have against certain species? Collared doves, Wood pigeons, crows etc. are all conspicuous by their relative absence.

Nice capture of a great bird. Well seen and taken. I too agree about the dominance of the wall so might be tempted to take a small amount off of the bottom to reduce its impact.

Hi all, many thanks for your comments! LOL Mark, I wasn't ill, I gave them my lunch in exchange for some photos.....not a bad deal I suppose.

I was quite surprised at these birds, they were pretty habituated, completely ignoring people walking within a few feet of them, but as soon as the lens was pointed in their direction, they were gone, even with my lunch to tempt them.

Perhaps I'll post another later, thanks again all!
