I took this a couple weeks ago under the full moon. We found this building the morning of the CSNP gathering, and I figured I would get a chance to get back and photograph it more. It seems like the 50D picks up a lot more streaking from the stars than the 30D did, at the same exposure times. 50D, f/2.8, ISO 1600, 20 sec.

Rob, I like the quality of light the moon brings to this scene. I think you used just the right amount of exposure on this too.
The rock foundations and expansive sky make for a good combination. Well done.
p.s. how's the weather in your neck of the woods this morning?

Rob, interesting night shot. Just curious what time of night you took this? It looks like you are picking up some light on the horizon.

Wayne, things are looking quite white atm :). The snow started around 9:30 last night, but it is coming down pretty good this morning and blowing in the winds that are in the 30+ mph range, with gusts over 50 mph. How about up your way?
Tom, this was taken around 11:30 pm. The moon had been up about an hour I think.

Rob, no white stuff here yet, just cold north winds and a spit or two of moisture in the form of rain. If the low pressure area tracks far enough south KC may miss this altogether.

Very nice image. Is that the Pliedes center left above the trees?
I like this one a lot, Rob. Great work with the exposure, and a very cool old structure. I might like to see just a hair more foreground - the stream seems just a little cramped.

The more I look at this, the more I like it! If this was shot in RAW, I'd suggest trying to push some more orange and blue saturation to give it some more color depth. I think it's a great scene and it has inspired me to try some full moon scenery.

Take a look over in ESS forum for a view of today's snow in central Kansas :).
A great example of yet more wonders of Kansas.
