I purchased Epson R1900 printer (at last..after a lot of thinking to start printing at home).
I am wondering what are your favorite paper on this printer? (it is a pigment type)
I mostly print color and landscape - please let me know. I heard that it is easier to start with Epson papers first and then try other papers - any thought on that too will be appreciated.
Thanks a lot

Arnab,
I prefer matte papers, so the Epson Enhanced Matte (MK) is an economical paper. Also, a company called Inkpress makes a very good matte paper. Of course you could use any others - Moab Paper LaSal (formerly Kayenta), Hahnemule rag mat....the list goes on, but if you start out printing on matte, try the Epson or the Inkpress.

On my R1800 I liked the Epson Velvet Fine Art very well. The R1800/1900 are top notch on glossy and luster papers though due to their GLOP. I really liked Ilford's Gallerie Smooth Pearl (better than Epson's luster) when printing to an RC paper. I would have really liked the Ilford Gold Fibre Silk, but I couldn't get any of the Baryta papers to print correctly.
The one problem I had with the R1800 was that I couldn't get neutral B&W prints without some difficulty and the glossy papers were tougher in this regard. Some papers they would shift green, others would shift blue or purple.
I've since moved to a 3800. On the 3800 I've been printing on Ilford GFS and Ilford Smooth Pearl.

I like the traditional photographic paper look. The Epson Premium Luster works for me and I have had great success with the ICC profile for it letting the Epson Printer driver manage the colors. With a calibrated monitor, colors have been right on for me.
