Pastel Palace
This was taken while out shooting with Tony Kuyper and Mark Hudon in the SW. It was well after the sun went over the horizon, so this is about a 20 second exposure. The afterglow on these rocks were pretty neat... it seemed to hang around longer than usual.

Subtle and delicate come to mine. Really damn good place to camp also comes to mind.

I love the color here. I'd wish I could describe it better, but it's a feel good photo. It also makes me very excited for my upcoming trip to the SW in April.

This is great Rick! I love the warm tones and man is it sharp. Kinda reminds me of a stegosaurus.

Excellent Rick, love the color and texture. Looks like the spiked back of a dinosaur!

Nice exposure and processing - looks perfect.

This is going to sound stupid - but my eye keeps going to that little bit of blue ridgeline way in back on the left and gets stuck there.

Lots for the eye to wander over, and I like the richness of the colors. It looks like you took the photo at the perfect time. I like Marc's camping comment too!

Rick, I now the rocks as everyone has said are great but for me the subtle color in the sky puts the icing on the cake.
I'd hand this one!

This gives a mood of both warmth and a soft feel one doesn't associate with "rock!" Very pleasing and great comp Rick.

Huge interest throughout the frame and really magic light. Love the formations in the foreground and the way it sets the mood for the visual trip up the cliffs. Really delightful. Even the tiny bit of blue in the luc that would usually bug me, adds instead the suggestion of far distance and works well with the scale of the scene. Nice one!

P.S. It looks like a 3-D puzzle constructed from Heaven! What a fabulous patchwork of rock!

I really like the lines and pattern, and of course the color at this time of day.

Sweet image, Rick. And you are right about that glow.

It brings back fond memories of my first trip to the soutwest, back in October 2006.
