What can I expect to see in the first week in June? Is young/newborn wildlife in abundance for viewing this time of year? Snow still in the Teton peaks?
I will be equipped with a 500 f4 and 1.4 TC so reach should not be much of an issue, I do not think.
Any opinions from those familiar with the parks this time of the year. I have been to both places quite a few times but always in late fall.
Thanks,
Carl

I was there for a few days in mid-June last year. There should definitely still be some snow on the peaks. In fact, there was a snowstorm there in early June of last year (though I think that's somewhat rare). I didn't see many young animals, though I wasn't looking for them. I'm sure they're there but probably more reclusive than most of the wildlife. I did photograph a baby bald eagle. Here's some pics from that trip.
Many photographers go around Memorial Day just for baby animals and the animals that eat them - wolves and bears. Lamar, Hayden, and the area around fishing bridge are hot spots.

Thanks, guys!! I'm planning on 6/6 - 6/12 but staying in Colter Bay in GTNP. I'll be doing a lot of driving for sure between there and the Lamar Valley.
Any thoughts/experiences with wildflowers in the two Parks, as well?

In GTNP, I've found wildflowers just about anywhere. In YNP, I've found wildflowers mostly in the area around the Lamar Valley and Tower Junction.

Carl, The best place for Moose calves in the Tetons is Gros Ventre campground. There is speculation that (399) a Grizzly sow who had triplets a couple of years ago was seen mating again last fall. A friend of mine keeps me posted who lives close to Jackson. The Grizzly population has expanded in the Teton area over the last few years. Another place for Moose calf sightings is at the Grand Teton Lodge. Look over the bank at the turn in to the Lodge.
Grizzly sightings are all over the park since they move a lot. Pilgrim Creek road and two lakes road are places I would check. Is there a reason your staying the entire time in the Tetons? The drive up to YNP can be a drag. If it was me I would split my time in the Tetons and YNP. I will probably be making a trip up there sometime in early May and then again in June. If you want keep in touch via E-mail and I will have more specific information for you.

Thanks, Don!
I am staying primarily in the Tetons to shoot the sunrises there and then shoot wildlife in late afternoons in either YNP or stay right there in GTNP. I really want to capitalize on the wild flower season in GTNP while I'm there. I know it can be a drag driving up to Lamar via the south entrance everyday but if that's where I need to go, I'll do it.
I am very familiar with the Gros Ventre campground area and have been successful with moose there in the past. I heard that same "399" rumor of her having triplets again but it has not been confirmed. Boy would I love to run into that around the Colter Bay region!
