Super of the bird but I find the log behind the bird distracting. Desreves a cleaner background if that's possible at this location. Cheers, Mark

Thanks Mark, but not possible. I was lying in nettles, twisted at an angle that has cricked my neck, resting on one elbow whilst trying to raise myself up enough to shoot over the nettles and through the branches of a fallen tree, all whilst hand holding a 1D + 500 f4.........

I can still feel the nettle stings on my arms and legs now after nearly 2 days and a gallon of savlon

Needs either a different perch or viewpoint, and perhaps both.

Technically faultless, and a good foundation to work from.

The K’fisher itself is really excellent.

Stunning Kingfisher shot, I would find it rather difficult to decide where the bird was going to perch! This works for me - lovely shot.
