Not my usual fair but couldn't resist stopping and shooting this group of spring blooming iris along side the road around Lake Conway. Spring has arrived, hallelujah!

Shot w/Nikon D300, Nikkor 200-400 VR w/1.4 converter from car window resting on a bean bag support; f16 @1/200, ISO 400.

C/C welcome as always.

Have a great day!

Dave, I applaud your unique approach to flora photography. I never thought of using my car as a blind to get a beautiful intimate shot of an illusive species like this! The long lens & TC yes, but bean bag supported from a car window, no.

This is a really good comp and a nice supporting background. Well controlled whites and very sharp. My only compositional suggestion would be to clone out the oof petal at extreme LL to provide a clean arch for your main subject.

Great work from and unusual vantage point!

The morning dew or rain drops add to the picture too. It is time for color!!! The drab winter has left and it's time ot get out and enjoy the massive explosion. We have plenty of "bean bag" adventures around here. Plenty of wildlife management areas both state and federal. It's nice to literally drive around and take pictures.

But, the trails are better!

Love the intense colors, detail and droplets of water. Glad you didn't spook it away!

I like how you make your photography sound so easy... You do have a lens/camera combo that allows you to relax while shooting these subjects. I hope to see some more "unusual" stuff from the front seat. Sharp!
