Just had to find a spring scene to shoot with the heavy snow this afternoon (didn't stick), and finally found these redbuds at Pea Ridge Military Park. Much to my horror, I discovered the only tripod I had was a small one I use for wildflowers that's only about 8" tall. So I wedged it in the fork of a big branch laying on the ground and was fairly happy with the result.

Sounds like a good plan, finding a spring scene with the heavy snow, but you'd be hard pressed to do that around Kansas. This is a lovely little scene Bill and with the blowing snow and Orton effect you've really created a nice painterly effect. Glad you got out to take advantage of the conditions.
Came out really nice, the orton works well with the spring color and snow blowing.

The snow gives the Redbuds an Impressionistic look. Or is that the Orton effect? Really nice either way. Thanks for braving the elements to bring us this special shot.

I went up to the Glory Hole and Lichen Falls with Brian Cormack. That snow was something else. I am really impressed that faster than I can get back to Conway and check my e-mail you have posted something great.
An impressionistic mood was what I was striving for here, so maybe I succeeded to some degree.
Matthew - glad to know they're getting some snow in that part of the state. I've had the same impression when I've run into Tim Ernst while out shooting...he always beats me to the punch!
