Egret hunting 03-27-09 in Felsenthal NWR, Union County, AR. Egrets are still in their spring breeding plumage.

Unlike so many species, the egret family isn't much concerned with blending in with it's environment is it?
I know I've said it before Daniel but your new equipment and growing experience is really paying dividends. Keep up the good work!

Daniel
One of my favorite species and I often find so difficult to set up and capture resulting in a sharp detailed photograph.
Thank you for sharing.

I really like the water on the feathers that turning them into points. I hope to see more of these. Are these Egrets had to find in Arkansas?

Felsenthal NWR has lots of Egrets, Herons, Wood Ducks, and even some Bald Eagles. It was overcast and drizzling Friday or I would have had a lot more images. This particular bird was found in the flooded timber just off US 82 near the Ouachita River Bridge.
I am hoping to get down to Martin Lake Rookery near Layayette, LA, next Friday to shoot Egrets, Herons and Spoolbills that often nest there.
