Thoughts? I've been teetering on the fence with this one for the last 6 months. Liked the clouds, didn't like how relatively little of Shuksan was visible in the reflection (but it was the best I could do and I wasn't even intending on shooting this direction in the first place - more of a When in Rome situation).

I think it's outstanding, Bryan. The symmetry is very engaging and the postitioning of the foreground elements is flawless IMO. Might look even better as a B&W with even more impact from the sky.

Bryan,
I gotta say I love this ! This has to be one of my favorites of yours ! This is the type of image I only wish for - especially of Shuksan ! The symmetry and the lines leading to the subject are fantastic and the cool tones really add some mood to the image !

Bryan,
I think its an excellent image, great mood with the cool light. Good proportions, nice anchor with the rocks. I see what you mean with wanting more of a reflection of Skuksan, but I'm not surewhat you could have done, short of shooting from a ladder.
Everything is really nicely balanced here. I suggest perhaps lightening the sky a hair.

I think you can get off the fence on this one....very nice. My only suggestion would be to allow just a little bit more room on the bottom in order to give more separation between the rock and edge of the frame. Also cut back on the blue just a tad??

Bravo, Bryan! And you sat on this one for six months?? I'm filing this post in my "Now THAT'S how you compose a shot" section. I like Marc's idea too, this seems like it would make a great B&W.

I think its great too Bryan. The blue adds to the coolness of the alpine lake. My only nit would be the pine needles on the foreground rocks, but its probably my o.c.d. kicking in.
Well then, I suppose it stays in the portfolio after all. Appreciate the feedback folks.
Marc - I played around with all sorts of B/W conversions and I just didn't like how little the clouds stand out against the sky. The faint purple hues in the sky get completely washed out and I think the overall blue theme really makes the image what it is. YMMV I suppose.

That is a beauty of an image, Bryan.
If I were to suggest any improvement, it might be to trim it a bit to lose the very top of the sky (where the clouds aren't), and take a little off the left edge (to right between the first two boulders on the left far shore). But, then again, that's based on me sitting here holding up envelopes to the screen to simulate a crop, so I wouldn't take it as any form of Gospel Truth.

I think this is killer, Bryan! Original take on an icon, imo. Love the perspective, and the sky is subtle but interesting. I agree with Marc, B&W would look great for this, ithink.

Great image, Bryan. My minor suggestion would be to get the shades of blue in the water and sky to agree better. The water reflection is going towards cyan while the sky is bluer.

Works for me Bryan. Very nice symmetry and shapes throughout the shot.
