My final Skunk Cabbage photos (I think)...
Well, with the storm that blew through last night, the snow made for some nice contrast with the still-emerging skunk cabbage. So, I traipsed out for what are likely my final skunk cabbage photos for this spring...

And, a bit closer...

I figured you would get out for an even better shot with the fresh snow. After you posted I went looking for SC and was supprised to find some. Maybe if we get snow this week I can get some pictures.

Very cool. I like the detail on the first shot. I dunno about you, but our snow was extremely short lived. It fell overnight and was gone by 2 in the afternoon

Hey, I like that first image...it's like some alien life form emerging from the mire.

I like the first one the best. Thanks for sharing the series. Have you tried adjusting the highlights so you can get more details out of the snow? I've had good results in similar situations. If you are shooting raw files, you should be able to recover lost details with a simple curves or highlight slider tweak.

I like seeing these guys against the snow, Tim. It gives a nice contrast and tells their story as well.
