I made my annual spring trip to Tucson about a month ago, and after several tries, I finally got a great sunset to shoot. Here is one of the shots, from the last night I was there:

After years of being partially shrouded in scaffolding, the San Xavier Mission was fully visible. They'll be doing the east tower soon, so it'll probably be several years before the it's fully visible again.
There's that Arizona Highways color. The first one has some problems with overlapping cactus and trees and horizons, but the colors are lovely.

Thanks, Morris.
I've got some better shots without so much overlap, but they're not on this computer.
There are also some others on my website...

Another sunset shot.
Even though it looks to have a color cast, the setting sun was heavily filtered on the horizon, and this is pretty much how it looked.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
And greetings from Kayenta!

Hi, Ken!
It was fortuitous running into you while we were out there (it IS a small world).
And John, your current trip has me yearning even more for my extended weekend off in April and my planned trip to Moab. I'm sure you'll come back with some wonderful shots!
Your Sajuaro sunset is outstanding and you did a great job managing the bright white church against the dark blue background. Great shots! The sunset colors in #1 are fantastic, but it could use a few cacti above the horizon. Nice stuff.

Very nice series, I've been there a couple of times and have always had trouble isolating a nice clean saguaro for a sunset silhouette. There always seems to be other vegetation muddying up the scene.
