Blue Tit!
1D2n, 600mm f4 is x1.4, 1/160s, f6.3, iso 400. Setting sun. Cloned out background branches.

Taken from the comfort of the house through an open window. The sun was very low and the background was a chaos of colour, so I had to do a fair bit of work on it - but I thought the bird itself was worth the effort! The great thing about this hobby is that I still get fun out of chasing the common ones, and I know I'll never have the perfect picture of one!

Ian it sounds like you need to set up a feeding station in the garden to to the "perfect picture of one".

Its a very nice detailed image of the Tit.Tho i'm not sure on the blue/green object in the BG ?.

As said the Tit is great :toast:

Not your best, Ian. That's honest for you! Background needs to be further away from the subject to avoid the distractions it presents. Probably about 5m between subject and bg with your lens set-up should be enough, maybe less. Pose of the bird is great though!

I agree, nice shot. As a newby I'm constantly frustrated by the "easy" ones and wish I could do as well.
