My husband and I are headed down to the Ouachitas this weekend for his big bike race, and we might stop somewhere along the way for a hike on Saturday. We'll be coming in through Springfield. What are the trail conditions in the Devil's Den area after the big ice storm? For that matter, how are the trails in the Ouachitas? Surely if they were too bad, they would have cancelled the bike race. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

The worst damage was north of Devils Den. I have not been there but I would guess the damage would mostly be on the high hills and ridges. It did not freeze in the Ouacitas so there is no damge at all there.

I was at Devils Den a few weeks ago and it looks just fine. The campsite were full and everything was in order and crowded! There was hardly even a stick in the paths!
