This week's Pick of the Week in the Fauna Gallery might surprise some people. Technically, it's probably not the "most perfect" image (whatever that means!) we saw this week. And, the subjects can't match the drama of some of the lions, leopards, bears and elephants that were posted. The lighting? Not that dramatic. BUT, the subjects in the Pick of the Week are just so endearing! Between their eye contact, antics, and simple pure appeal, the 3 young Bolivian Squirrel Monkeys stole the show and ensured that Rick Gomez's "Monkeying Around" took the Pick of the Week. Congratulations Rick!
There were, of course, a number of other images that were real eye-catchers as well. The powerful lines and lighting made Dave Knight's "Plains Zebra Portrait" an image worth viewing several times. Kenneth Arni captured an exceptional memorable sunset image of a wild pony in his "Pony at Assateague". And, Marsel van Oosten's "Morning Drink" exhibited again why his images are so highly regarded!
Thanks are extended to everyone who posted images and/or comments in the Fauna Gallery over the past week!
