Jekyll Island Trip in Mid-June

Taking a family vacation to Jekyll Island in Early June. I plan to spend a good deal of my time on photography in the area. I have been to Jekyll many times, but not so familiar with surrounding area. Looking for good areas perhaps off the beaten path, historic sites, wildlife, especially. Any recommendations are appreciated.

The Millionaires village is a good photo op place. The south end of Jekyll is a good place for birders. The Tidelands 4-H Nature Center is another place to visit. Fort Frederica on St. Simons is also worth a visit.
