Aaron really neat, I know this must take some time to shoot and edit. I just don't know enough about video to critique you any. Man that is a nice collection of glass.
Nicely done Aaron - very relaxing video to watch, and the music works well too. Thanks for sharing.

Aaron,
I've really admired the videos you've posted. I also like the music!
How do you get the video into a form that is presentable on a PC? I have used my 5DmkII to take several HD videos and my PC won't play them back without a lot of jerkiness. Are you converting them to another format or different codec? Sorry if this question has been answered already elsewhere.
To properly edit this without the jitters you do need to convert it to a different codec. I use MPEG Streamclip on Mac, but it's free for windows too. Here's a video that'll show you the ropes: http://www.vimeo.com/2373679
You may want to bump it down to 720p to make it easier on your computer or editing software. I'm editing 1080p at 29.97 with and XDCAM 35VBR codec with PRORES on Final Cut Pro 2. Wow, that's a mouthful... Anyways the footage looks wonderful before it goes to the web and it's about 5-6gb for every 4 minutes after color correction and effects. Let me know if I can do anything else to help you get that stuff online and available to watch!
I continue to be amazed at that quality of the 5D Mark II when properly shot and Nikkor full manual lenses help a lot.
Don't use to much contrast on your color presets and download the newest Quicktime because it has a wider color gamut that will not crush your highs and lows on the 5D footage.

The music on all of these is by musicians I know... I may put together a full-length DVD/Blue Ray after I capture another years worth of footage.
if you missed the other Nature Videos I've done with the Canon 5D Mark II go here:
