Hi All,

I took this last night on the Lizard in Cornwall, the bird was photographed against an east facing cliff with the light just falling over the top, so with exposure set up manually I tried for this image, I am quite happy with the results( I know this will probably not appeal to everybody  ), I just thought it stood out from all my other Fulmar images.

Techs:
Make Canon
Model Canon EOS-1D Mark II
Focal Length 420 mm 300mm +1.4x
Exposure Time 1/1250 sec
Aperture f/8
ISO Equivalent 400

Cheers
Brian

I like the treatment Brian - good idea well executed :wavey:

Just a slight pity it was below you but it's a nice shot none the less

I like the way you have managed to retain the whites in what appear to be very difficult lighting conditions. In an ideal world I would like a little more space for the bird to fly into, but that is a very minor nit indeed. Great stuff.

Works for me - big change from water/sky b/ground. Well worth the effort.

A very different but pleasing image of Fulmar Brian. If that ray of light had extended to the head as well it would be even better. :toast:

I like this very much. It has also reminded me that it is best to view images with the room in darkeness - makes a huge difference to this one.
