Good Morning,

My family and I are heading to South Carlonia on vacation in 2 weeks and we are going to be staying on Hilton Head Island. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on where to go on the island for good wildflower photography. I have heard there are a variety of flowers on the island but can't seem to find WHERE! I was down there last year but did not research nature photography "must see" places prior to the trip, so I would hate to do that two years running. Any help or tips on good places would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Allison

If you can take the ferry over to Daufuskie, there may be something there. You might also check with the South Carolina DNR and local florists.

Allison,

There is also Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge on your left, just before you enter HHI.

It's a really, really nice place but it has restrictive gate hours that are not conducive to sunrise and sunset opportunities. Other than that, lots of wildscapes and wildlife to photograph.

Good luck.
