Garrapata State Park. central California coast.

17-40L @ 34mm, 1/15s, f/16, ISO100.

I was on the way down to McWay Falls this weekend (still processing thsoe), and was looking for this spot that I had seen images from before. After a bit of searching north of Soberanes Point I found it. It took a little bit of downclimbing to make it down to water-level, but it was nice once you made it down. It was still mid-afternoon so the light was pretty harsh, and it didn't look there would be any kind of worthwhile sunset. Rather than pass it up entirely I thought I'd see if would make an OK black and white.

Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated!

Because I do not do B&W, I cannot critique the quality of your tones. However, I
do like the composition. I like the various forms and shapes in the image.

Matt,
I really like the cobble fg here and the overall comp. I haven't tried too much B&W either, so I'm not much help there.

NIce shot for almost midday. Looks worth heading back for some less harsher lighting.

Mat,

Pretty nice. I have so many photos of this beach. I remember back in the 90's this used to be a full sand beach! No rocks. Over the years I guess the sand got all washed away. Maybe I will post a photo from that time.
