Portrait Of A Guillemont
Photo of a guillemont taken from one of the purpose built viewing platforms at bempton cliff's, these allow you to see these seabirds quite close. They nest on these narrow ledge's,and it's amazing how they will go onto lay a single pear-shaped egg to prevent it falling off here and raise the chick in this hostile environment .

Nice composition and well processed.

Only nit would be that the subject is a bit tight on the frames left edge - otherwise a good image.

Hi Craig,

I think the tightness on the left hand site adds to the image. I get the feeling falling backwards, especially when coupled with the bird's pose. It really emphasises the narrowness of the ledge. And their skewed eggs - what a beautiful example of adaptation.

Nice work.

Nicely captured. The pose is great :)

I agree with Chris - the tight framing hightens the perilousness of their nesting habitat. Nice one.

Agree with all of the above, cracking shot.

Hello Craig.

Good composition and I think you have captured the feel to this very well. The way they nest on the ledges.

I think I would agree with Andy about a bit more room on the left.

Lovely portrait, I really like the composition here, though a smidge extra room may balance the composition, it really does give a feeling of being on the edge!

Yes, an unusual crop but I can see why and it really works for me too. In fact you could be even bolder and crop more from the left. Great stuff!

Thanks for your kind/helpful comments, i must say i can see people's point on the crop, but this is the shot i saw through the viewfinder and i wanted to convey the dramatic drop and the ledge on which these birds will stay/live on and bring up their one chick ,and i have not cropped it, thanks again. :wavey:
